Mini-update
G’day,
And welcome to the latest news from Fan Base HQ.
There has been heaps of things happening in the world of Prisoner over
the last few months, from our annual Priz party in Feb to the news that
Maggie Millar will shortly be arriving in the UK to meet fans, so
without further ado….
Maggie Millar in the uk
Great news for UK based Priz fans, Maggie Millar (Marie Winter) has
confirmed her flight and will be winging it to the UK in the next few
weeks to undertake a number of appearances.
Fans are invited to join Maggie as she embarks on a series of ‘dinner
and conversation’ dates throughout the UK.
Maggie has also agreed to host the Fan Club’s 20th Anniversary event in
the UK, and believe me we’ve got a couple of surprises up our sleeve for
that!
OTI are putting in the hard yards organizing both the dinner date tour
and the Fan Club party, so three cheers to Scott and Barry.
Full details of all Maggie’s appearances can be found at
www.prisoner-cellblockh.co.uk
Details regarding the UK Priz Party will be released in the next few weeks.
Prisoner party 08
Well I’m still on a bit of a high from being in the presence of so many
wonderful cast members – what a lovely group of women our party guests
turned out to be.
But firstly thanks to Corrine and Travis for their hospitality and
opening their home up to fans and actors alike, and also to JB and Corey
for all the technical stuff on the day, and since.
Same time, same place next year?
For those fans who couldn’t attend we managed to shoot some amazing
video footage with cast members.
Corrine did a very professional job interviewing our guests at length
about their work on Prisoner and we’ve ended up with a great mini-doco.
JB has spent hours working on the DVD (thank goodness we don’t have to
pay him for his professional services, we couldn’t afford him!) to
produce a very professional film that I’m sure all Priz fans will
appreciate, and more to the point, it is great fun!
Corrine had a ‘Madonna moment’ and ended up interviewing Kylie Foster
and Maxine Klibingaitis in bed, where they were later joined by
film-maker Tim Spanos, and she managed to catch some of the other cast
in some very odd places.
So if you really want to see what goes off at our Priz parties now is
your chance.
The DVD will be available from March 21st and features interviews with
Maxine (Bobbie), Kylie (Angel), Maggie Millar, Lois Collander (Lurch),
Reylene Pearce (Phyllis C. Hunt) and Desiree Smith (Officer Stout).
The DVD comes with a set of 6 colour mug shot prints which were taken on
the day
The price is $15 Oz, £15 UK which includes postage and packing costs.
Thanks to all fans who submitted questions via OTI, we used all of them,
check out the DVD for your name-check and answers!
We have already posted a bit of a taster on YouTube (just search for
Prisoner party 08 to see a clip of Max and Kylie in bed….) and we will
be revealing a bit more on OTI.
To place your DVD orders please email roz at partnersincrime.com.au for
further details.
Autograph service
All orders for the signed photos of our ‘party girls’ were mailed out on
Fri March 7th.
Unfortunately Marianne Brooke was a no-show on the day due to illness so
anyone who ordered Marianne’s autograph has been sent a few extras by
way of apology.
Could all readers who placed orders please contact me to confirm arrival.
Flight of fantasy reunion
UK Fans who have taken part in our Flight of Fantasy trips are holding a
reunion in Birmingham in early April.
Not only will they be reminiscing about their trips Down Under they will
also be working out their return trip next year.
We have had a number of emails from UK based fans who are planning to
come Down Under next year and want to know if there will be any events.
We will definitely be holding one of our little parties, all the actors
who attended this year have put their hands up to attend in 09, and Max
K (our recruitment officer) has offered to round up a few more actors,
and she is also working on another event which I know will really thrill
fans.
So if you are thinking of making the big trip to Oz next year and want
to get in touch with fellow fans that are making the trek just drop me
an email.
AND FINALLY…
Well that’s about it for this mini-issue – our next issue will be out
very shortly and will be of bumper proportions.
As I type this Simon is en route back to the UK loaded down with a stack
of press-cuttings, DVDs and the various bits and pieces that form the
ingredients of the smorgasbord of Priz trivia that is our News Update.
Whilst he has been here we have been tinkering with the Update format
and working on a few new ideas which will be put into production as soon
as Simon recovers from his jet-lag.
Keep watching,
