PRISONER FAN BASE MINI-UPDATE

G’day,
And welcome to the latest News Update.
First the bad news: due to insufficient interest we have had to postpone
the Wentworth Warriors Prison Weekend.
We were only 5 people short to make it financially viable, but as it
stands we would be looking at $500 per head, which by anyone’s standards
is a tad expensive.

This isn’t all bad news, however, as we immediately set about looking
for an alternative authentic Aussie slammer – and remembered the
notorious Old Melbourne Gaol. Not only is this historic site the scene
of Ned Kelly’s execution, but it was also featured in a very memorable
Prisoner storyline: when Joan Ferguson was off her head on acid, the
hallucinations sequence was filmed in the Old Melbourne Gaol. As Barbara
Jungwirth recalls, “We did a dream scene there – it was the Freak’s
dream, and we hanged her – I will never forget it! The cells were full
of dust and no air, and we had to wait for cue in one, wearing cloaks
and black hoods – it was very claustrophobic!”
So, if you’d like to join us on a tour of a true Victorian prison, in
the company of a member or two of the Prisoner cast, let us know…!

And now for the (other) good news, once again Travis and Corrine have
stepped into the breach and offered to host one of their now infamous
PRISONER parties at the Inkerman Palace in St.Kilda…

Prisoner Party ‘07
We are thrilled to announce that this year’s party will be attended by a
minimum of FOUR much loved Priz cast members.
Our favourite party girls MAXINE KLIBINGAITIS (Bobbie Mitchell) and
KYLIE FOSTER (Angel Adams) are back by popular demand, and will be
joined by fan-favourite REYLENE PEARCE (Phyllis Hunt) and perpetual
extra BARBARA JUNGWIRTH (Lorna Young).
We are also in contact with two other cast members who would love to
attend, but cannot confirm at this point.
So if you want to spend a couple of hours up close and personal with
some Priz favourites, why not come along and join us?
Besides sharing a sherry and a snag with the actors, we will also be
screening continuous episodes of the show, as well as holding our
regular Priz Quiz; Travis will undoubtedly pack them in on the dance
floor with his 80’s disco.
As usual there will be a number of Brit fans in attendance, with at
least 10 making the annual Priz Pilgrimage, so this is a great
opportunity for fans from Oz and the UK to get together and swap notes…
just don’t mention the cricket!
Last year’s party went on into the wee small hours of the next day, so
expect a belter this year!

AND FINALLY
We will be back after the party with a mega-bumper edition of the Update.
Things have been very hectic of late, having endured both flood and fire
threat in recent weeks, amongst other things, which have eaten into my
Priz-time, but my Priz folder is once again bulging at the seams with
some very interesting Priz related stories, so all will be revealed in
the next issue.

Keep Watching
